Amazon Sidewalk is a shared network that extends the connectivity of compatible Amazon devices beyond the range of home Wi-Fi by using a portion of Wi-Fi signals from nearby devices. It creates a low-bandwidth network, allowing devices like Echo speakers and Ring cameras to stay connected even in areas with weak or no Wi-Fi coverage. Sidewalk utilizes encryption and security measures to protect data and keeps the network separate from personal home networks. Participation is optional, and users can enable or disable Sidewalk on their devices.
Utilizing Amazon and Ring devices already installed, the network is community driven.
90% map coverage provides most connectivity without adding an extra gateway.
SenoSpace offers devices that support the Amazon Sidewalk protocol.
